-Declaration of Faith-
1. The Word of God - We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, complete as the revelation of God's will for salvation, and the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak. (Matthew 5:17; Rom. 15:4; 1 Cor. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4:12)
2. The Trinity - We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 6:8; Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)
3. God the Father - We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (John 6:27; Acts 17:29; Eph. 4:6; Heb. 1:1-3)
4. Jesus Christ - We believe that Jesus Christ is God's eternal Son, and has precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We believe further that He is not only true God, but true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We also believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal, visible, return from heaven. (Matthew 16:16; Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-2, 1:18; 3:16; Hebrews 1:8; Rev. 19:16)
5. Holy Spirit - We believe in the Holy Spirit, His personality, and His work in regeneration, sanctification, and preservation. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and implement Christ's work of redeeming the lost and empowering the believer for godly living and service. Upon conversion the Holy Spirit comes and abides within a person forever and is a deposit guaranteeing the hope of a glorious resurrection. (John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 5:3-4; 1Cor. 2:10-11; Eph. 1:13; 2 Peter 1:21)
6. Man - We believe God created man, male and female, in the image of God and free from sin. We further believe man, as a result of Adam’s sin, is a sinner by nature and choice and is therefore spiritually dead. We also believe that those who repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:26; 2:7, 17; Jer. 17:9; Romans 3:10-18; 1 John 3:8)
7. Salvation - We believe in individual salvation obtained by God’s graciousness, though our faith in Jesus Christ. This Salvation was purchased through Christ’s death on the cross; we further believe that this salvation is based solely upon the grace of God, received once forever, through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or rituals. (Romans 6:23; Eph. 2:8,9; John 1:12; 2 Cor. 5:21; Gal. 3:13; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 3:18)
8. Resurrection of the Body - We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, the saved unto eternal glory in God’s presence and the unsaved to eternal condemnation in hell. (John 5:28; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Rev 20:4, 11-15)
9. The Church - We believe in the universal and local church. The universal church is comprised of all those who have been genuinely converted placing their faith in Jesus Christ, justified before God, and indwelt with the Holy Spirit. The universal church functions as the body of Christ on earth. We also believe in the local church which is a tangible expression of the universal church, being made up of professing believers in Jesus Christ who together uphold the ordinances of baptism and communion and carry out the function of corporate worship, biblical instruction, and evangelism. (Matt. 16:18; 1 Cor. 1:2; 12:27-28; Eph. 1:22-23, 4:12; Col. 1:18)
10. Ordinances - We believe that baptism and communion are ordinances not sacraments. A sacrament is that which confers grace upon the participant of the ritual as a matter of fact. Rather, an ordinance is a ceremony which expresses a pre-existent spiritual reality. Believers perform these rights as an act of devotion to God in the presence of the community. Therefore we baptize only professing believers (through immersion for it most closely follows the NT pattern) and we encourage only believers to partake in communion since it is void of significance to the unbeliever, and has no power to save. (1Cor. 1:17; Titus 3:5)
11. The Person Of Satan - We believe in a personal devil who is the adversary of God and His children. While the devil’s power is limited, he exercises great control in this fallen world. His fate is assured; he has been cast out of heaven, defeated at the cross, and will be cast into the lake of fire. (Ephesians 2:2; John 12:31; 16:11; Hebrews 2:14; 1 Pet. 5:8; Rev. 12:9, 20:10).
12. Future Events- We believe in the future there will be a great tribulation in which a false messiah, the antichrist will lead the world astray. We also believe that, in accordance with God's promise that He will re-gather the Jewish people to the land of Israel and that they will nationally repent putting their faith in Jesus as the promised Messiah. There will be a final conflict between the forces of the antichrist and believers (Jew and Gentile) in Jesus. Jesus will return with the armies of heaven and vindicate His people and bring destruction against the antichrist and all who have pledged their allegiance to him. (Deut 30:1-6; Isaiah 11:12, 45:5-7, 49: 3-6; Dan 7:25; Matt. 24:16, 29; 2Thess. 2:1-10; Revelation 13, 19).
13. The Nature of Gender- We believe the Bible clearly states that when God created mankind, He created two and only two genders: male and female. Those genders are immutable. If someone 'identifies' as a different gender than what they are anatomically, or participate in a gender reassignment surgery, their gender still has not changed. The only occasion where gender confusion is legitimate are in those exceedingly rare cases when a child has a genetic mutation. (Genesis 1:27; 2:22-24; Matt. 19:4)
14. Sexuality- We believe that while God created the beauty of the sexual union between man and woman, along with all creation, sex has been polluted distorted and manipulated when sin entered the world. People may have a voracious sexual appetite but there is only one institution in which sexual activity is morally justifiable, monogamous heterosexual marriage. Therefore, adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality and all other variations are sinful and in conflict with God's will and design for mankind. (Genesis 19; Leviticus 18; Romans 1; I Corinthians 6:9-11).
15. Marriage- We believe that Marriage is a beautiful creation of God allowing two people to enter into the deepest human relationship possible. It is to be cherished and honored by all. Marriage is an institution created by God, not human government; any attempt of man to limit or expand marriage (allowance of marriage only between people of the same ethnicity, or expand to include polygamy, open marriage, or homosexual marriage) is not should will not be recognized as legitimate. (Genesis 2:18; Exodus 20:14; Matt 19:6; Matt 19:9; 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Hebrews 13:4)
16. Sanctity of Human life- We believe that human life is precious and to be protected. We believe that life begins at conception. It is a great moral evil to terminate innocent human life in the womb, nor should it be terminated artificially due to illness or being elderly. Life belongs to God, therefore not to be murdered by human beings. The only instance where abortion of a child is arguable is when there is indisputable evidence that the life of the mother will be forfeited. This becomes a matter of saving life rather than taking life. (Gen. 2:7; Psl. 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5, Luke 1:41, 2:5; Galatians 1:15)
